amri fuses her roots in Indian Carnatic music into her much-loved Soul and R&B to create a fresh, new, colourful sound. Her lyrics touch on her exposure in the world as a young woman of colour; translating this into both lyric and sound. Born and primarily brought up in London alongside Guernsey, amri draws from these experiences in her writing.
With so many inspirations she draws from, her soulful, sweet melodies will surely hold a piece of something you love. Her debut EP ‘grooves in a SMILE’ opens the world of her music for you to feel, sing and move with her. Having been interviewed on BBC Bristol’s Breakfast show, songs featured on BBC Introducing Radio and showcased in RESONATE and KICKDRUM magazines, amri has been gaining attention, and seems not to be slowing down.
Now based in Bristol with her band, amri blends between the smooth, sultry edges of jazz and soul with brass and sitar, creating a unique fusion that’s not one to miss..

From September 16 – 19, 2026, the Reeperbahn will be the hotspot for music fans, newcomers, and the music industry – for exchange and inspiration. Join us in creating a festival that opens up perspectives and enables meaningful encounters!
In her music, amri serves up an explosive medley of timbres that inspires listeners to laugh and dance just as much as to consciously unwind after a stressful day. Deeply rooted in the Carnatic musical tradition of South India, the arrangements of her compositions are characterised by constant melodic and rhythmic variations, with her versatile voice at their heart. Whilst structurally classically oriented, the instrumentation and melodies are imbued with the sensual longing of modern R&B and soul, making songs such as “Brew You Tea” and “Gold Armour” (2025) prime examples of stylistic crossovers: “Be inspired, but never copy” is her motto. On her debut EP, “grooves in a SMILE” (2025), the singer–songwriter masters this balancing act with calm confidence whilst demonstrating just how multifaceted she can make it. Still largely unknown in this country, she is travelling here specially from her home in the UK for one of her first concerts in Germany. A must for soul fans of all generations.
Extra Terrestrial Promotions & Velvet Echoes are proud to present indie icon Yellow Days as the closing headliner of Down Stokes 2026. Blending influences from jazz, rnb, funk and soul with a recognisably drowsy yet powerful singing voice, George van den Broek has been a staple amongst the lofi/bedroom pop scene since the release of his debut EP Harmless Melodies (2016). Since then, George has developed and experimented with his songwriting, with his latest record 'Rock And A Hard Place' boasting pristine production, intimate lyricism, and ambitious musicality. If you're a fan of music that moves you (emotionally and physically) this is one not to miss!
